It’s an honor to be the Healthcare Proxy Helpline’s Program Assistant. Having had family members go through difficult medical situations, advanced care planning has always been important to me. Now more than ever I think it’s critical for people to designate a health care proxy, and it’s incredibly exciting to be a part of a new way of helping people fill out these important documents.

I graduated from the University of Central Florida with Bachelors degrees in Biology and Religion & Cultural Studies. I went on to receive a Masters of Bioethics degree from Columbia University, and worked as research and policy analyst with New York State Task Force on Life and the Law. I will be attending Drexel University School of Medicine in Fall 2020

“Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others.”

– Winston Churchill

For me, working with CLI this summer is the perfect way to get hands-on work experience in a field that builds on my interests in philosophy and the law with the added bonus of helping an organization whose cause I believe is extremely important to society. This internship will hopefully provide many learning opportunities that will assist me in my future legal career, as well as a way for me to use my knowledge to make a positive contribution to society.
