Executive Director
Mark Barger Elliott, D.Min, M.Div
“When it’s over, I don’t want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.
I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.”
— Mary Oliver
“The poet T.S. Eliot observed in our beginning is our end. It can also be said in our end is our beginning. Meaning, the totality of our life informs and shapes our death, and our death informs and shapes the contours of our life. The Completed Life Initiative invites people to engage in a conversation that asks the deepest questions of our human experience; namely, are there aspects of our relationships, work, dreams, even our soul, that are currently unresolved? Secondly, have we taken the time to ponder and to determine the spiritual, medical, and legal aspects that will in our end, define a good death.”
