THE COMPLETED LIFE INITIATIVE PODCASTS

The Completed Life Initiative offers three podcast series: Voices of the Completed LifeGifts of the Completed Life, and Lexicon of Life and Death.

Voices of the Completed Life offers interviews between Executive Producer Lynn Barger Elliott and those exploring End of Life options for themselves and their loved ones. Our current series Last Doctors: Where to Begin with End of Life Care features the voices of three physicians who pioneered end-of-life care for the families and communities ensuring, in the words of one physician, that “they would live until the end.” We invite you to listen to these moving stories of these heroes whose convictions led them to advocate for new laws, to create different approaches for medical care, and develop innovative concepts of Family Medicine.

Gifts of the Completed Life offers reflections and conversations with authors, artists, physicians and philosophers who help us explore the many ways of answering, “What is a Completed Life?” This series will be hosted by our Executive Producer, Lynn Barger Elliott, with guest appearances with our Executive Director, Mark Barger Elliott. The next series, The Art of Grief, will be available June 2024 and will feature voices of artists who use writing, painting, music and gardening to work through their grief.

Lexicon of Life and Death explores the vocabulary we employ to express beliefs, hopes and attitudes towards life and death. While asking what it means to live a completed life, Lynn and Mark Barger Elliott shine light upon words borrowed from other languages, words resurrected from lost languages and new words created to describe an ever changing world. Each episode will lead the listener to consider and reflect upon ways that language guides us towards embracing full and whole moments in our lives.
