In this month’s edition of the Poetry Corner, Delano Copprue concludes his summer reading series by weaving together the previously discussed works of Walt Whitman and Soren Kierkegraard with the poetry of contemporary writers Carmen Tafolla and Li-Young Lee. Delano pulls from the works of these great writers to explore how we are able to preserve ourselves in dignity despite the challenges we inevitably face in our lives. Delano’s commentary invites us to consider the role silence plays in the search for wisdom and how we can avoid losing ourselves by acting with integrity.
